Article: victim of lottery scam
In the forum threads dealing with lottery scams (supposedly from Facebook, Nokia, etc.), there are hundreds of posters who received the message (or "massage") that they won and want to know if it's true.
Here's a BBC article about an Indian man who traveled thousands of miles to the Delhi bureau of the corporation after getting a text claiming he won a mythical "BBC lottery":

I saw that too! Thanks for posting the link. It's just sad that a. people are so gullible and b. that there are so many scammers to take advantage of the gullible.
The article reminded me of another story from years ago where some old person went to some contest company (PCH?) headquarters because they thought they had won. Of course they hadn't - the phrasing in the mailing was deceptive.
